Ari Fox, LCSWAbout Ari E. Fox, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in child and adolescent therapy. I earned a bachelors in psychology from Brandeis University and a masters in social work from City University of New York - Hunter College School of Social Work. I received postgraduate training at the William Alanson White Institute, where I earned a certificate in child and adolescent psychotherapy.

I customize treatment to meet the unique needs and personality of each individual I treat. I strive to help your child feel happier, more confident and better able to cope with difficulties. I meet with parents regularly to discuss your concerns or just to check in. My passion is helping children and adolescents to feel better about themselves, to understand their inner worlds and their environments, and to help them cope with the difficulties they face in their daily lives.

I have worked extensively with children and adolescents in mental health clinics and in private practice. In addition to my individual work, I have facilitated therapy groups with children ranging from 8 to 18 years of age. I also started a group for parents to discuss their feelings and concerns about parenting.

Patients and their families have told me that I make them feel comfortable. My easygoing personality, patience, and use of humor helps put children, adolescents, and their families at ease as we work together. I listen and respond in a non-judgmental way, using play therapy techniques when appropriate, and ensure that each individual I see feels safe and heard.
